The smartwatch market is picking up momentum in India with several cheap fitness trackers for less than Rs 3,000. However, the premium segments are also seeing several new options from established brands and Huami Amazfit is the latest one to bring a new smartwatch in the market. It’s called the Amazfit GTS and has been launched at Rs 9,999 in India. The watch will go on sale in India on Amazon from October 13.
Amazfit has launched a couple of smartwatches this year but the Amazfit GTS is the one that looks the most modern. The Amazfit GTS gets a design that looks inspired by the recently launched Apple Watch Series 5 with its thin bezels and a long display. The watch gets a 1.65-inch AMOLED display with full touchscreen controls. The body of the watch is made from aluminium alloy and display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The watch gets the usual smartwatch features expected from premium smartwatches these days. Amazfit claims it has widgets that can be edited and there are several watch faces to choose from. The watch should also show notifications from your smartphone and let you interact with incoming calls.
Amazfit also claims that with its 220mAh battery, the GTS watch can deliver up to 14-days of battery life on a single charge. However, there are several fitness functions for health freaks. Amazfit says the GTS features 12 different sports modes including outdoor running, treadmill, walking, outdoor/indoor cycling, elliptical trainer, pool/open water swimming, mountaineering, trail running, skiing and exercising.
It also displays the data after the workouts sessions such as GPS map, distance, pace, calories, bpm range, altitude, time, and much more. You will also get multiple health management features such as sedentary reminder, calorie consumption, sleep analysis, and more. The watch manages all these functions with the help of an array of onboard speakers such as the BioTracker PPG, 6-axis Acceleration Sensor, 3-axis Geomagnetic Sensor, Air Pressure Sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor.
The Amazfit GTS has been launched in two sizes in India. The 42.6mm model costs Rs 9,999 whereas the 47.2mm model will cost Rs 10,999 in India. It will comes in Obsidian Black and for the bands, users can get it in Steel Blue, Lava Grey and Rose Pink.
