Chinese electronics brand Xiaomi is expected to launch a new television in India today. The event will be broadcasted live on e-commerce platform Flipkart at 11pm today. Those interested may watch the livestream on Flipkart’s website.
The webpage on Flipkart says ‘Gear up for the #BigTV Revolution’. Earlier a tweet by Manu Kumar Jain, MD Xiaomi India also mentioned ‘The Bigger Picture’. Hence, it is being alleged that the company may launch a large screen TV.
Notably, the company recently launched 65-inch Mi TV 4 in the home country, China. Launched in November last year, the TV offers 4K display and runs on Android operating system with PatchWall UI on top.The Xiaomi Mi TV 4 65-inch 4K HDR LED model offers an AI-powered voice system. It also comes with Dolby+DTS support for audio. The TV packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The Mi TV 4 (65-inch) is priced CNY 5,999. This roughly translates to Rs 63,000 in India.
Meanwhile, the Chinese firm also reduced the prices of three Xiaomi TVs in India. These included Mi LED Smart TV 4A 32, Mi LED TV 4C PRO 32 TV and Mi LED TV 4A PRO 49. After the price cut, the Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4A 32 is retailing at Rs 14,499. Similarly, Mi LED TV 4C PRO 32 TV was originally priced at Rs 16,999. Its new price post the price drop is Rs 14,999.
Lastly, the price of Xiaomi Mi LED TV 4A PRO 49 has been slashed by Rs 1,000. It is now available with a price tag of Rs 30,999. Notably, the priced were reduced in the wake of reduction in GST rates from 28% to 18% by the Indian government on TVs of up to 32-inch screen TVs.
